Introduction to Managing Fresh Produce Quality:

 

This one day programme presents information on how to assess and manage quality.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

It is aimed at staff working in a buying, sales or quality control capacity who may not have formal horticultural qualifications, but want to gain a greater understanding about practical fresh produce management.

WHAT THE COURSE COVERS:

  • The theory behind why fresh produce behaves the way it does
  • What is quality?
  • How to assess fresh produce quality
  • Temperature management
  • Interpreting quality problems
  • Humidity, gas and ethylene management

A certificate of attendance is issued to programme participants.

The programme includes a range of practical, hands-on practical activities, with ample time for specific quality issues to be discussed.

A detailed workbook forms part of the course content and is designed to serve as a useful reference document for participants.
