Basic Food Safety Training:

 

This four hour in-house training programme presents information for people who work with food and need to understand more about safe food handling practices. We tailor our courses to the audience.  This could be the fresh produce industry, packaging industries or even a food manufacturer.

Staff need to be provided with basic Food Safety training and understand how and what to do to meet the food safety requirements of the company Food Control Plan (FCP) or National Programme (NP).

The aim is to ensure that staff members to understand the elements and implementation of the company FCP/NP.

These courses are available in English and Chinese.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This introductory food safety course should be attended by anyone who handles food.

WHAT THE COURSE COVERS

The course covers the theory elements of food safety and an introduction to FCP/NP.

It will assist course participants to understand the importance of their actions in relation to the food safety aspects of the products they handle.

It includes cleaning hands, wearing clean clothing, dealing with foods safely, keeping foods separate in the food preparation area, other procedures that are specific to your food business, etc.

At the end of the training session trainees will be able to demonstrate:

  • Effective personal hygiene procedures
  • The correct temperature management for foods
  • Knowledge of how to identify potential food safety hazards
  • The risks of food cross contamination and how to minimise them
  • How to comply with the company FCP/NP requirements.

A detailed workbook forms part of the course content and is designed to serve as a useful reference document for participants.

A short quiz will be provided at the end of the course to test participants’ understanding.

A certificate of attendance is issued to programme participants who pass the quiz.
