Anne-Marie has worked in the cut flower, amenity horticulture and vegetable production sectors with both a domestic and export market focus. A large part of her career has been associated with the produce supermarket industry as a produce supplier, quality assurance manager and consultant in post harvest handling and distribution systems.
A further area of expertise is policy development and analysis for local or central government on agribusiness related matters including the wool, pig and dairy industries.
Anne-Marie is a competent and experienced project manager and has lectured at Lincoln and Massey Universities in the agribusiness and supply chain areas.

Keith Budd
Executive Director

Keith has a broad horticultural background gained from careers entirely spent in the New Zealand horticultural sector. His experience ranges from growing subtropicals and market garden produce through to managing operational functions within MAF’s former Quality Management Group.
With a strong background in biosecurity matters Keith has been advising agribusiness organisations and Government agencies on policy development in the areas of export and import requirements and the development of risk management models. Keith is based in Wellington.

Dr Hans Maurer
Managing Director
MBA, B. Hort., Dip. Bus. (Mktg)

Hans’ early horticultural career involved training as a nurseryman and working in orchards and market gardens. This formed the basis for a successful career in supermarket merchandising and marketing, with an emphasis in business strategy and supply chain planning.
He is a provisionally accredited member of the Institute of Directors, a professional member of the Royal Society of New Zealand and a member of the Economics Commission of the International Society for Horticultural Science.
Hans is Chairman of Global Doctoral Programmes for IMCA and supervises doctoral candidates in Canada, the UK, Germany and the USA.

Debbie Woods

Lisa Ritchie

Lisa manages the company’s media activities and is responsible for The AgriChain Centre and HortSource websites and printed media. Lisa’s design skills ensure a professional presentation in all marketing activities and her involvement in most of the company’s research projects.

Jessica Wallace

Jessica has extensive experience in fresh produce quality control management at supermarket distribution centre, export packhouse, orchard and market garden level. Jessica is a member of The AgriChain Centre’s fruit survey team as well as a trainer on our MAF accredited Biosecurity Awareness Training Programme.

Massimo Ciccioni

Massimo’s research experience and consultancy work conducted in Italy focused on food industry product traceability and the creation of a FAO database of worldwide major horticulture crops. Massimo manages The AgriChain Centre’s fruit survey team with specific responsibilities for scientific robustness of outcomes, which includes peer review and supervision processes.

Rosanne Worsfold

Rosanne is a recent horticultural science graduate from Massey University, with work experience in glasshouse vegetable production and tree fruit crops in Canada. Rosanne is a member of The AgriChain Centre’s fruit survey team and her role is to assess fresh produce quality on behalf of our clients.

Shirner Kenny

Shirner handles all the administration and resources for our Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry Approved Biosecurity Training. She also works on draft operational procedures and makes sure all our admin complies with our third party accredited Quality Management Standards.

Carolyn is involved in the development and implementation of Food Safety Programmes for clients primarily in the fresh food/produce arena. She is also a Biosecurity Trainer for our Accredited Person training courses.

Alexandra McDonough-Killick

Alex is a Biosecurity Trainer for our Accredited Person and Biosecurity Operator training courses and is also a member of The AgriChain Centre’s Fruit Survey Team. She has had ten years experience as a Quarantine Officer and nine years in quality control of fruit and vegetables. Alex is based in Christchurch.
