Our Company and Services

Action Learning Programmes

The AgriChain Centre is the New Zealand partner of the International Management Centres Association and supports selected IMCA programmes locally.

Action Learning - what is it?
Action Learning is a continuous process of learning and reflection with the intention of getting something done. It does not use any form of simulation such as case studies or business games but workplace-based problems. Learning is centered around the need to find a solution to a real problem. Learning is voluntary and learner driven, while individual development is as important as finding the solution to the problem.

Biosecurity Solutions

The need to protect New Zealand’s natural and physical resources from pests and disease is becoming increasingly important to our economy.
The AgriChain Centre can assist your business in completing a Biosecurity Assessment that benchmarks your practice against best practice activity.
The AgriChain Centre is also an Accredited Training Provider for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s Sea Container Biosecurity Awareness Training.

Project Management

The AgriChain Centre manages a range of long-term projects for a diverse client range. Current projects include a national soil sampling and GPS mapping project for a major horticultural export crop association; quality control inspection on behalf of a supermarket group; and the collaborative kiwifruit marketing process on behalf of a New Zealand exporter.

Quality Assurance Concepts

Quality is always expected - and rarely consistently achieved without careful management. The more perishable the product, the tougher the job.
The AgriChain Centre can assist you in developing quality assurance concepts that work for your company.

Strategy Development

Procrastination, management by instinct or rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic are no longer adequate in assuring a business future.
The AgriChain Centre works with its clients on identifying the strategic landscape the clients’ businesses are positioned in and on establishing appropriate business strategies. These may take the form of business plans.

To discuss your needs, please contact Dr Hans Maurer.

Value Chain Analysis

Every business forms part of a value chain. How a business performs today, how it will perform tomorrow and what it will be a year from now need no longer be guess work. The AgriChain Centre assists its clients to understand how to define their places in the value chain, how their particular chain works and how to influence it.
